Notice of change of insurer of your payment protection policy
If you recently received a letter or read a newspaper article that informs you about a change to your payment protection policy there is no cause for concern and no action is required by you.
On 16th March 2012 a court hearing is due to take place that will approve the change of insurer for part of your policy from London General Insurance Company Limited to London General Life Company Limited. Both companies are members of The Warranty Group, Europe and are UK insurers authorised by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) in the UK.
This will not impact your policy in any other way. Your rights and obligations will otherwise remain the same. The transfer is simply for legal reasons but requires various formalities to be completed. This will take place as an insurance business transfer scheme under part VII of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.

You do not need to do anything in relation to the Transfer. However, anyone who believes that they may be adversely affected by the transfer is entitled to make written representations to the Court or to attend in person or through a legal representative at the hearing of the application to approve the Scheme, to make their views known to the Court. If you are intending to do this, please give us written notice of your intention and details of what you intend to say as soon as possible and preferably before 31st January 2012.
